Synopsis
20-year-old Julie O'Neil is on a safari in the Masai reserve "The land of the elephants" in Kenya. But when she was on a safari she didn't see any elephants and she was impressed, so at the end of the safari, she decides to start looking for elephants on her own. In the search of elephants she rents a hot air ballon and she goes with the owner, Sakimba. When travelling in the air ballon they collide with a tree, and under the tree they see an elephant Sakimba realizes that it has a poisonous arrow stuck in it. In the end they discover that those who kill the elephants to get ivory were M. Mason, Ben and the bal man. The police captures them. Now that the killers are gone, there will be many elephants again.
Personal Opinion
In my opinion it has been a very interesting story and the vocabulary of the book was quite easy to understand. Regarding the story, I think that there are thousands of animals in danger of extinction and one of the reasons is this that appears in the book. I think that people should be aware that animals are very important for the earth and for the environment, and we can't kill them for economic interests. Economy isn't everything in this life.
