This story evolves in a dystopian reality where our society has collapsed. After that, a war started, resulting in the division of the USA into 12 districts. Such districts are named according to their function and financial power, therefore, district one will be the most powerful, whereas district 12 the poorest. Additionally, the Capitol, the winning area, will establish some “games' ' in order to maintain peace, requiring a couple of each district participating annually and trying to kill the others to win. Hence, the inhabitants of the lowest areas will face daunting challenges such as hunger and discrimination. However, a hunter girl will appear, Katniss Everdeen, changing the course of the story and what’s more, being the spark of the rebellion, something that the headmaster of the Capitol won’t like.
Personal Opinion:
After reading this novel, I shall conclude that it could be considered one of my favorites. Since the story-line is very well written and the character development is very quite interesting, I can’t put any objections to this book. I really enjoyed this experience and I would recommend this book to anyone who likes dystopian and adventure fiction. If you like this genre, please give it a go!
