SYNOPSIS
“The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole” written by Sue Townsend is about a boy called Adrian Mole of almost 14 years old who experiences all the typical problems of a teenager: a first love, the changes in his body, the fact that he doesn't understand his parents and adults in general and the typical insecurity at that age. Adrian tells all these problems in an almost comical way in a diary where he writes what happens to him for over a year, starting in January 1st, with the New Year's resolutions. In this book you can find out about the romance with Pandora (his classmate), the traumatic experience when his mother cheated his father with the neighbor Mr. Lucas and Adrian's first time in an operating room, when they remove his tonsils after almost ten years on the waiting list of the hospital.
PERSONAL OPINION
In my opinion, this book is quite funny, although at first it seems that Adrian is only complaining all the time and that he is very pessimistic. Actually, it is a good book to see life through the eyes of a teenager and understand that it is not so easy when you are his age.
I definitely recommend you this book because it will make you smile while you are reading how he makes a drama about everything.
