Synopsis

Simon, Eleanor, Ruth and her twin Jane are the members of this family. They have been living with their aunt Bee Ashby since the tragic death of their parents in a plane crash. Patric, Simon's twin, wasn't able to stand the situation and comitted suicide. They are members of an aristocratic family of Latchetts. where they own several stables with horses. After the death of his parents, as the will said, Simon was going to become the owner of the family property on his 21st birthday. Two weeks away, Alec Loding, a friend who lives in London, meets a man, Brat Farrar, whose resemblance to Simon was inevitable. Alec, then makes a plan with Brat for him to pass himself as Patric to take all the money that was originatelly for Patric, and after the loss of him for Simon. Brat agrees, and after passing all the recognition tests, he goes to Latchetts to meet his new family. After a few days, Simon confesses to him that he can't be Patric, as Simon killed him 8 years ago. After investigating Brat forms a plan to make everyone know that Patric was killed by his twin. In the act, Simon dies and Brat in unconscious but alive. At the hospital they realise that he is Walter Ashby's son.

Personal Opinion

I personally think that it has a very entertaining plot, as many things happen in a short story. Furthermore, I strongly believe that it is a very appropiate book for our age, as it has a vocabulary that requires a little bit of level, that is, a child wouldn't understant it.
