Synopsis
In a distant kingdom, a beautiful princess fell in love with a poor young man. Her parents didn’t approve of their relationship. However, they got married and had a baby. Nevertheless, the King ordered the disappearance of the young husband as well as the little child. The boy was given to a poor couple who took care of some goats .After a while, the princess died of grief. And they buried her with her dead husband. One day, the king became very ill and he started thinking of his daughter and her 16 years old child. He was sad and filled with deep sorrow for the atrocities he committed. So, it occurred to him that his grandson could be the king and his men went to find the boy. After thinking a little bit he agreed. The boy was shocked with such luxury because he wasn't used to it. After a few days, the king died. So, the boy had to attend meetings and found them boring. At that moment, he missed the freedom of the forest. But he started to like art and became very greedy. Suddenly, he started having very bad dreams where he saw how other people suffer and even die in order to obtain and create the objects for him. The story ends in a very curious way. He entered the cathedral with very common clothes and before he started speaking, something miraculous happened. Everything around the young King was bathed in a mystical light.
Personal Opinion
It seemed quite an interesting story to me. I’m amazed by how many themes were explored within the story. I also like the moral which is very important. Thus, I fancy the writer’s way to express the story. In conclusion, If you don’t have much time this is a perfect book for you.
