Synopsis
Jamal Malik, a young man from a poor neighborhood in Bombay, decides to enter the fashion contest on indian television "Who wants to be millionaire?". As the show progresses, Jamal gets the answer right and earns money. People were more and more surprised. When Jamal gets in total over million rupees the program takes a break and police take him out to make some quiestions. They don´t understand how a young "illiterate" can guess the answers. After torturing him, Jamal explains that he knows the answers from his experiences from life. Jamal returns to the quiz eventhough he doesn´t know the the answer, he manages to get the tweenty million rupees question right and wins. Finally, Jamal is reunited with Latika, his one true love.
Personal Opinion
I loved the book, and it made me reflect on certain things. I think its perfect because it deals with various topics related to the subject. It makes you realize what the situation in India is, which many young people were a little or completely unaware of. I personally liked it a lot and I recommend it. If you are a bit sensitive, don´t forget the tissues when you read it because it is hard!
