SYNOPSIS: Anne Elliot comes from a family of high standing but her father is a big spender and they must move to a house in Bath where their expenses will be more affordable.The old house is rented to a couple, Admiral and Mrs. Croft. Anne Elliot is excited because Mrs. Croft is the sister of Captain Wentworth, with whom she has been in love for 8 years. One day, he comes to visit his sister and is very cold to Anna so she thinks their romance is over forever. They go on a trip and it seems that the captain starts an affair with Louisa but it doesn't happen and, in the end, she comes back engaged to another captain. Captain Wentworth returns and is jealous of Mr. Elliot's attentions to Anne, who only wants to marry her to keep his inheritance. The captain writes a letter to Anne confessing his love and, in the end, they marry.
PERSONAL OPINION: It is an entertaining book if you like love stories, although a bit confusing because it has many family names and many characters. Personally, I really liked the book.
