SYNOPSIS: The story is about a Spanish boy called Antonio. He has a friend called Jason, who studied with him at Salamanca University and now lives in New York. Antonio’s dad was from New York and Jason calls him to visit him. Jason works as a waiter in a restaurant from the city. Antonio has not enough money to go to New York. So he proposes to his boss ot write about his trip in New York. His boss acceptes and he goes to the city at Christmas. Antonio meets Elaine who works with Jason in the same restaurant as a waiter. They have planned many plans for these days. For example, Thanksgiving dinner and visiting New York, the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty.
Antonio explores the city during the week. He also goes with Peter who organizes Thanksgiving dinner, to a Chinatown. The article, which is written at Christmas, is most successful with readers. When he returns to Spain, his boss calls him the “Star writer” because the articles which he writes are being a success.
PERSONAL OPINION: I liked this book, the parts that I like are when Antonio, Elaine and Jason went to a Thanksgiving dinner and Antonio explored the city on its own The book is easy to understand.
