SYNOPSIS
Anne Elliot is in love with a sailior, but he has to go, breaking her heart and refusing an offer of marriage. 8 years later, she still loves him and she hopes that they will get back toghether. But one day, while she was taking care of her sick sister, the captain came to her house for dinner. Anne didn't know what to do, so she sat away from him, giving him to understand that she doesn't feel anything anymore, Anne's sister-in-law sat next to the captain, and they felt a certain appreciation for each other. Weeks later, when Anne was at home, an old firend of her mother told her that Luisa, her sister-in-law and the captain were engaged, and that devasted her even more. She decided to give up, but she received a letter from the captain where he confessed his feelings for her and in the end they got married.
PERSONAL OPINION
I really enjoyed the book. It was very captivating. I would recommend it to everyone who likes love stories which are set in the 19th century.
