Goldfinger-Ian Fleming

SYNOPSIS: James Bond, British Secret Intelligence agent, number 007, was at Miami Airport when he met Junius Du Pont, a man who had met before in a Casino in France. After Bond´s flight was late, Junius Du Pont invited him to spend the night in his hotel instead of helping him to find out how a man called Goldfinger was cheating him on a card game. The next morning Bond discovered how Goldfinger was cheating, he was being helped by his assistant, Jill Masterton. Bond blackmailed Goldfinger into giving him and Jenius Du Pont money. A week later in London, Bond's superior, M, told him that Goldfinger was smuggling gold out of Britain and he also suspected Goldfinger of being connected to SMERSH. Bond decided to go to Sandwich, play a golf game with Goldfinger and try to get more information about his business but he didn't get anything new. However, he invited Bond to his house for dinner. While they were having dinner Goldfinger told him that he was going to Europe so Bold decided that he would follow him. Following Goldfinger he was able to discover how he smuggled with gold, but while he was looking out for him, he saw a girl with a gun. She was Jill Masterton's sister, Tilly, she wanted to kill Goldfinger as he killed her sister. Immediately they were caught by Goldfingers assistants and they were threatened with death. In order to save their lives, they started to collaborate with them in their new operation, they wanted to steal gold from the United States Bullion Depository at Fort Knox. The day of the robbery everything was going as they wanted until the police entered. The robbery didn't happen but Goldfinger managed to escape. The next day, Bold was supposed to catch a flight to London, nevertheless he was drugged and taken to Goldfinger´s flight. There, he caused an accident and he killed Goldfinger before landing in the ocean. Finally, he was rescued and safe.

PERSONAL OPINION: I did not like this book as the plot was quite boring. It was very easy to read and the story was original, even so, it did not catch my attention at all.
