AMARI AND THE NIGHT BROTHERS by B.B. ALSTON

SYNOPSIS

Quinton Peters,13 year old Amari's older brother, has just disappeared. Though not many people seem to care about it and just assume he ran away because he was into something illegal. Amari Peters a young black girl that suffers bullying, has always felt like the shadow of his big brother...he was, what people call a 'Golden Boy'; he was very intellligent and often got a lot of praise for that. Weeks passed since the disappearance of Quinton, and Amari had the courage to go in his room; she wanted to look for something that might take her to her brother. Amari ends up discovering a briefcase (that's only meant for her eyes to see); she opens it and finds a nomination for a summer tryout at the secretive Bureau of Supernatural Affairs. Amari is sure that the only way to find out what happened to Quinton is by assisting and then, she will able to find his brother and take him home. But, it won't be that easy; she will meet mermaids, dragons, magicians, people with supernatural powers and will even have a weredragon as a roommate! Will Amari know what happened to her brother? If so, where is he?

PERSONAL OPINION 

I really liked this book, it's definetely one of my favourite fantasy stories. The magic world and story are perfectly made and written. It's also a really easy read; it's not too long but it gets you hooked to the story.Thanks to the different characters and situations the book is filled with a lot of plot twists which makes the reading a lot more pleasing.
